You can find a red winged blackbird at Fernhill Wetlands! They are black but have a red space, a yellow space, and a white space on their wing. Its call sounds like it's saying "Pumpkin-eeeder"! They like to sit on things like cattails, trees, and gazebos. They lay their eggs in tall grass and cattails, so be careful! The nest and eggs blend in.

Paden,
ReplyDeleteYou sure got close to the red winged blackbird in that picture! Do you know what the female red winged blackbirds look like? Even though they're called red winged blackbirds, they don't have the red or yellow on their wings! They seem to have a lot of brown, white, and black spots. Why do you think that is? :)
